What password do I need to use to access my student email account for the first time?

As of January 3, 2012 the process to activate a student email account was update to include a newly created password sync feature.
Based upon the new password sync process all student users are required to update their PirateNet password in order to access his/her email account. This may be done by clicking the "change password" option on the login screen for PirateNet.
After successfully updating the PirateNet (aka Active Directory) password students will be able to access their mail account by logging into their PirateNet account and then clicking the button for "Mail" in the upper right hand corner.
Please note: any student users who connects to their email account through a Blackberry, iPhone, mobile device, etc. will need to update the saved password on the mobile device each time they update their PirateNet account password as the passwords for mail and PirateNet will synchronize.
